Spray Dryer Technical Specifications

All our production spray dryers are custom designed so that the various parameters can be adjusted to suit a customers or a products individual requirement. This means that for any given model of spray dryer there can be many variations in dimensions and layout.

European SprayDry Technologies spray dryer plants range in size from laboratory plant upwards, below are a selection of small to medium production plants parameters giving guides of main details for planning. Tall Form Nozzle spray dryers form into two main categories the Standard Spray Dryer Chamber and the Bustle Spray Dryer Chamber. With the standard spray dryer design all the air and powder is removed from the base of the chamber and transported to a powder separator, either cyclone or bag filter. This type of machine is prevalent in the production of food and chemicals and is relatively low in cost, easy to operate and very low maintain.

The bustle is used more usually employed on larger throughputs and where delicate products or multi stage drying is required. Bustle dryers are highly versatile but retain the ease of operation and low maintenance costs of the standard dryer.

The bustle is more usually employed on larger throughputs and where delicate products or multi stage drying is required. Bustle dryers are highly versatile but retain the ease of operation and low maintenance costs of the standard dryer.

Bustle dryers allow powder extraction from the base of the chamber and through conveying ducts at the base of the cylindrical section that transport fine particles and air to the separation cyclones or bag filters. Far ease we have based measurements on cyclones only and plant heights do not take account of secondary processes which must be allowed for when sizing a building.

Bustle chambers blend themselves to fines recycling to allow the production of agglomerated particles especially with multiple nozzles.
